Studio Away from Studio

Two days, twelve hundred pit stops, and fourteen million "are we there yets" - we finally arrived on Cape Cod yesterday afternoon. Olivia was a fantastic traveler all things considering. We hooked her up with a DVD player, pink headphones, and a ton of Disney movies. For the most part, she was a happy camper.

We made 2 destination stops along the way - Albany, where we spent the night on Friday, and Providence, where we ate lunch on Saturday. In an effort to get our kids to every state capitol (okay, and ourselves!), we did a quick photo shoot at each capitol building.

Here is our little ham in Albany.

And us in Providence, RI (OMG - I look huge!).

We ate lunch at this great little hole-in-the-wall restaurant called Le Creperie on Brown University's campus. What a darling city! I'd love to go back again when we have more time to explore.

Anyway, on to more stitch-y news - I set up shop in the kitchen of our quaint cottage this morning before the natives woke.

I've cut through 2/3 of the fabric for my queen-size quilt. I'm doing a simple pattern of 12" squares in Kate Spain's Central Park.

I just have these three left to go. Olivia just got up - so it looks like I'll be packing things away for now.

I brought all my projects in this little plastic bin. We'll see if it all fits back together as neatly as it came. Something tells me it won't!

It's pretty chilly here today - a high of 55 degrees. It was so warm in Dayton when we left, none of us brought jackets. Oops. Well, at least I remembered the important things, like pins, tumbler block ruler, and walking foot. :-)

I'm off to try and get my bath-only daughter wrangled through a single-person stall shower. Wish me luck!

  1. Sarah,
So fun reading about your travels so far, thanks for sharing them with us. Of course sewing/quilting supplies are more important that jackets! :)
Have a great time and look forward to more updates.

  3. Have a great trip! If you have time while you're in Cape Cod, you should stop at Yummy Goods, the little shop run by Melissa Averinos! It looks like such a fun place. :)

  4. I've been out of the crafting loop for a while, including podcasts, blogs, etc.., and just thought of you, and wanted to check in, neighbor. Congrats on new pregnancy. You look great! Olivia is still a doll!
