This time next week, we will be in the very last stretch of Christmas preparations. I must say - I'm kind of looking forward to putting all this busy work behind me. What about you?
Tonight my daughter and I wrapped her teachers' gifts. I took Anne's (from Green Stitch Podcast) idea and made jars of biscuit mix with instructions for the rest of the ingredients, local honey, and the honey dippers - you know the things that look like bee hives? We used scraps of red fabric and pinked circles to go around the lid. Turned out super cute - and she helped every step of the way! Thanks for the idea, Anne!
Meanwhile, I've been working away on these mug rugs. They are meant for my grandma (who is turning 83 this week!). She'll get some nice tea to use with them, plus a few other goodies. Fabric is Joel Dewberry's Modern Meadow.
And here are a few shots of some hats I've recently completed using the Irish Hiking hat pattern. I just adore how nicely the cables pop in this pattern and with this yarn (Cascade 220).
Time to call it a night. Don't know about you, but by the time Wednesday/Thursday rolls around, I'm exhausted!
Don't forget to send me your holiday gift-giving stories to share on the podcast this weekend! Please email them to: stashresolution@yahoo.com. Thanks!
I love your hat! It's just gorgeous. And the biscuit mix is such a great idea. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heather! Happy holidays to you too! ;-)
