The Start of Beautiful Somethings - Cha Cha Cha

I have done a lot of starting recently - and not nearly the finishing I SHOULD do... Oh, well. I spend all day doing the shoulds. Crafting is where I can do the wants, right?

Anyway, here is the start of my Cha Cha scarf. Yarn is Trendsetters Cha Cha in 421 Olive. Love what a fun, quick knit this is. Cast on 12 stitches and using 10 needles. The ruffle affect is achieved by knitting in between the boxes along the ribbon and twisting the yarn when knitting it. There's a great You Tube video Jimmy Beans Wool put out that I used to learn how to work with this fiber.

Here's a sneak peak at my new pattern using Martinique by 3 Sisters for Moda. Early days in the design process. Let's see if my vision becomes reality. More than likely, I'll have to adjust along the way. That's the beauty of the creative process, after all, right?

Finally, if you've ever wondered what 7 yards of fabric folded looks like, wonder no more. Behold, Kona Snow.

Loving the new Knit Picks catalog. Check it out online. I'd love to make the English Garden Socks for all Seasons on page 16.

Enjoy this summer weekend. Looking forward to putting out a new podcast on Sunday! "Talk" to you then, my friends.

  1. The Cha Cha scarf is too cool! And I love the color. Martinique is one of my current loves. I have a hoard of it - just not sure what I'm going to do with it. I do know that I may have to get some more of it, just because. Can't wait to see your vision realized o:) That's quite the wad of Kona Snow - LOL I just got 3 yards - it is such a fabulous staple to have on hand!

  2. Sarah! I just discovered your podcast and, as a result, your blog. My 3 year old daughter and I are having a crafty day and I am loving listening. I have been sewing Eleanor's clothing for years, however I am just getting into quilting. I love your blog, I think you are the first fellow Ohioan that I have found! Anyway, love what you are doing!
