Remember the famous line from Top Gun, "I feel the need - the need for speed!"? That's how I'm feeling about so many of my projects. There are too many of them with too many deadlines looming. I need to go on a finishing spree.
At least one project is almost out of the UFO pile.
Simply pieced and simply quilted, charms sewn together with grid-line quilting done 1/4" from the seams.
The fabric is Hunky Dory by Chez Moi for Moda. I used two charm packs for the front and about 1-3/4 yards for the backing and binding.
In retrospect, I should have used a different fabric from the backing for the binding. Oh, well. I still thing it's turning out nicely.
Oh, did you know that when you leave your sewing machine light on for two days, it burns out? Yeah... It does... It's amazing how depending we get on those little lights. I'll never take it for granted again. Maybe this weekend I'll figure out what it takes, where to buy one, and how to change it... Add it to the list...
Congrats on checking another one off your list and it looks great. I have a quilt I have been "making" my mom for about a year. Actually the only thing I have left to do is the binding, and I think I am scared of it. I am going to concure my fear, and just do it....in a few days. ;)
ReplyDeleteHey! I love the quilt, and I love, love, love the quilting! Hope you get that light fixed...it's always something, huh?
ReplyDeleteSometimes I just quit making lists because the amount of things to do is just to overwelming!
ReplyDeleteVery nice quilt. It is always great to have a finish.
I enjoy your pod cast very much.
Very pretty quilt!
ReplyDelete@ Katy - Don't fear the binding! It's really not as bad as it seams (no pun intended! :-) )
ReplyDelete@ Robyn - Thanks! Yeah - It always something... When does it end!?
@ sewinggeek - Forget lists? What? But then how would I obsess about how overwhelmed I am and have the proof on paper? ;-)
@ Melissa - Great hearing from you! Enjoyed looking at your projects on Ravelry!
Re: your comment of 'forgetting list comment. My family sees the results of my obsessions and being overwhelmed visually. They would never look to the paper because it would be covered in their clutter. I am organized - all three guys in this house are Not! lol
