I LOVE your new machine and quilt frame. I saw something like that years ago and totally forgot about it. What a great way to long arm with a smaller investment. I have talked with several longarmers and they tell me it takes a lot of practice and comfortable shoes. Good luck. Can't wait to see your trials.

Thanks for your words of encouragement. Looking forward to your next podcast. :-)
ReplyDeleteCheck the way you have your quilt loaded on the frame. I think, but not sure, that it should go under the take up roller (the one that is in the throat area). That might solve your jamming issue.
ReplyDeleteGreat point, Connecticut! I did eventually figure that out - that the quilt needs to roll under the take-up roller. Otherwise, I had limited range of motion. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm catching up on old episodes, so this comment is late, but I wanted to say thank you for the reminder to sew slow, and let the feed dogs do the work, that does help to get consistent 1/4" seams!
